Kinnegad ( Irish : Cionn Átha Gad ) is a country town in County Westmeath in the east-central interior of the Republic of Ireland .

The place is about 60 km northwest of the capital Dublin on the border of counties Westmeath and Meath ; occasionally he is incorrectly stated as belonging to Meath. During Census 2016 lived 2745 people in Kinnegad, where since the mid-1990s, numerous daily Dublin commuters have settled here (1991, the population was still 415 persons). For non-motorized commuters, Bus Éireann connects the place with Dublin.

Kinnegad is of no regional importance, but is well known as a traffic junction. It is between Maynooth and Mullingar on the M4 / N4 from Dublin to Sligo , just before the M6 / N6 junction to Galway City from the M4 / N4.

The Royal Canal runs north of Kinnegad .
