The Kioene Arena is a multi-purpose hall in the Italian municipality of Padua . The Pallavolo Padua volleyball club has been based in the hall since 1987. The Kioene Arena offers 3,916 seats. There are 2,999 seats available for games by Pallavolo Padua. The namesake Kioene is an Italian manufacturer of vegetarian foods .
History and use
The building was built in the late 1970s, completed in 1980 and opened as Palasport San Lazzaro . The hall was later renamed PalaBernhardsson and PalaNet . The hall is mainly used as a venue for basketball , handball and futsal games . Between 2010 and 2015 the arena was known as PalaFabris . The arena offers an area of 45,000 m 2 . The hall light provides an illuminance of 1,700 lux . The building was used for the final of the Korać Cup 1981/82 , the UEFA Futsal Cup 2007/08 and the UEFA Futsal Cup 2011/12.
Eric Clapton , Bob Dylan , Tokio Hotel and Michael Bolton have performed here.
