Church Validz
The church Validz is a church building in Validz in the Mecklenburg Lake District . It belongs to the evangelical parish Altenhagen -Güllenz in the provost's office Demmin of the church district Pomerania.
Building history and architecture
The oldest part of the church is the 13th century rectangular choir made of field stone . An early Gothic portal on the south side is still preserved from this period . In the 18th century, the choir was extended to the west by a brick annex to the nave. The transverse rectangular west tower and the five-sided apse on the east gable were built in brick in 1879.
Interior
In 1879 the interior ceiling was also made as a wooden barrel. In the apse, the barriers of the earlier altar from the 1st half of the 17th century were used as wall cladding. The columns and arches of the fields, equipped in the style of the late Renaissance with rich fittings , were added in 1879. The pulpit is about as old as the old altar cabinets and in the same style. Reliefs with depictions of the evangelists and rich decorations with fittings are attached to it. According to the design of the Neustrelitz building councilor Georg Daniel , the altar was given a new staircase and staircase in 1879/1880.
In the tower windows there are four cabinet panes with biblical themes ( brazen serpent , institution of the Lord's Supper , lamb of God , washing of feet ) and a representation of a couple in elegant 17th century costume on the side of a coat of arms. In the church there is a gravestone with a relief figure for Achim von Moltzan († 1565).
The organ was built in 1880 by Barnim Grüneberg from Stettin as his Opus 208 and has 11 stops with two manuals and a pedal . It was restored by Rainer Wolter in 1999 .
