The Evangelical Lutheran Church Hartroda is located in Hartroda , a district of the town of Schmölln in the Altenburger Land district in Thuringia . The church belongs to the municipal part Hartroda the parish Hartroda-Wildenbörten in the parish area Schmölln II of the parish Schmölln in church district Altenburger Land of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The small hall church was built from 1800 to 1809 in place of a previous medieval building. It is covered with a hipped roof on which a slate-covered roof turret sits, which consists of an eight-sided attachment with a hood . The church furnishings were built between 1853 and 1860. The organ with 11 registers , divided into 2 manuals and a pedal , was built in 1855 by Christoph Opitz .
