Building history

The high altar

The church was built at the beginning of the 16th century and consecrated to Saints Rochus of Montpellier and Sebastian the martyr , the helpers of the plague. The building date 1508 can be found at the main entrance. According to popular tradition, the building was originally a hunting lodge.

It appears as a simple late-Gothic , single-nave hall church without a tower , on the unadorned westwork with gable front sits a larger brick bell rider, redesigned in early history . The main altar as well as the pulpit is made in the cartilage style of the Baroque, the left side altar was created around 1695. The baroque choir stalls date from 1644. The wooden organ loft is likely to come from the same construction phase. The current organ is a high positive from 1750. The interior of the church between the high altar and the church portal has a relatively steep gradient.

The church is under monument protection, it is run by the Federal Monuments Office as a "parish church".
