The Hohenbüssow Church is a church building in the Hohenbüssow district of the Alt Tellin community in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district . It belongs to the Hohenmocker parish in the Demmin provost of the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District and has been their daughter church since its establishment .

Buildings and equipment

The church is a hall building made of field stone . The western part is dated to the beginning of the 16th century. The four-sided east end was probably built during a renovation completed in 1730. The areas were built from mixed masonry with brick. Remnants of plaster with the former scratches are still present. The ogival windows were changed during a restoration carried out in 1861. There is a portal with a keel arch on the west gable.

The inside of the church has a flat roof. In the semicircular east end there is a high, segment-arched wall niche. The pulpit altar from the 18th century is decorated with carvings in the form of columns, volutes , acanthus and flowers. The sound cover with putti heads is crowned with a Christ boy. A shed with a lattice adjoins the pulpit altar. The pastors' and patronage stalls also date from the 18th century. In 1992, a smoke vent for an earlier wall-mounted fireplace was discovered on the patronage stalls. The stalls used to be crowned by the coat of arms of Hans Freiherr von Seckendorff. The font with tracery forms is made of artificial stone and dates from the second half of the 19th century. In 1867 the west gallery was built. A year later, the organ with a neo-Gothic prospect from Barnim Grüneberg's workshop was installed. It was restored in 2002.

The western wooden roof tower dates from 1787. In 1992 its baroque bonnet was covered with copper and the crown was renewed. The bell was cast by Michael Begun from Friedland in 1714 or 1724 . A second bell, which was cast by Scheel in 1744, no longer exists today.

There are various historical tombs in the cemetery, including iron grave crosses for members of the von Seckendorff and von Gentzkow families .
