The Evangelical Church District Karlsruhe-Land (also Evangelisches Dekanat Karlsruhe-Land ) is one of 24 church districts or deaneries within the Evangelical Church in Baden . It belongs to the parish of North Baden and comprises 31 parishes with respective parishes, the semicircle the city of Karlsruhe enclose.

The former church district of Alb-Pfinz was founded in the 1970s. In contrast, most of the deaneries of the Baden regional church were established either soon after the Reformation or in the areas that came later to Baden, mostly at the beginning of the 19th century. Due to the increase in population in the Karlsruhe area in the post-war period, new church districts emerged, including the Alb-Pfinz church district. It was formed on January 1, 1975 from parts of the Karlsruhe-Land church district and comprised 14 parishes.

On January 1, 2014, the Evangelical Church District Karlsruhe-Land was created through the merger of the Alb-Pfinz and Karlsruhe-Land (old) districts, whose parishes it comprises.

Demographic and socio-spatial structure
The parishes of the Karlsruhe-Land church district are located to the north, east and south of the city of Karlsruhe and in the Karlsruhe district of Neureut , which was an independent political community until 1975. The district borders the Protestant church districts Baden-Baden and Rastatt in the south, the church district Pforzheim Land in the east, the church district Bruchsal-Bretten in the northeast and the Evangelical Church of the Palatinate in the west. Furthermore, the church district Karlsruhe-Land encloses the district Karlsruhe-Stadt .
The region has been predominantly evangelical since the Reformation . Huguenots founded the first Protestant communities. Further Protestant congregations emerged through the influx of Protestants after the Second World War .
