Michael Nelson "Mike" Trout , nicknamed The Millville Meteor , (born on 7. August 1991 in Vineland , New Jersey ) is an American professional baseball player on the position of the center fielder for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in Major League Baseball (MLB). Trout was the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the American League (AL) in 2014 and 2016 . He is also a five-time MLB All-Star and has been named MVP of the MLB All-Star Game twice . His 12-year contract with the Angels in 2019 with a total volume of 426 million US dollars is the second-highest- endowed contract in the history of North American professional sport , after Patrick Mahomes' contract .

Trout was drawn by the Angels as a draft pick in the first round as the 25th pick and had a brief stint in the 2011 MLB season. In the following season, Trout became part of the active roster of the Angels and won the rookie of the that same season year award from the MLB.

Mike Trout has led the American League (AL) with the highest Wins Above Replacement (WAR) score for his first five full seasons .

Trout is considered one of the league's greatest talents and is already one of the best baseball players in the entire MLB.
