The Dârjiu fortified church ( Hungarian : Székelyderzsi unitárius templom ) is a 14th century by the Hungarian Szeklers in the village Dersch (Hungarian: Székelyderzs , romänisch: Darjiu ) built fortified church . It is the only fortified church in Szeklerland in which the church has also been expanded to defend itself. The church is the Hungarian King Ladislaus I paid. In the 15th century, the fortified church was enlarged in the late Gothic style and received the shape that has been preserved to this day. Since 1999 it has been recognized as one of seven fortified churches in Transylvania as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fortified church is still used today by the local Unitarian community.

The complex consists of five bastions . The outer five-meter-high wall ring and the church tower are reinforced with loopholes and towers. The nave with a battlement is separate from the church tower. The outer buttresses are connected by flat arches. The granaries and pantries within the building ensemble have been owned by the family since the Middle Ages and can only be bequeathed, not sold. The whitewashed church dates from the 13th century and was built on the site of an earlier Romanesque basilica . In the 19th century Gothic frescoes were discovered here, which were made at the beginning of the 15th century by Paul von Ung and thematize the legend of the Hungarian King Ladislaus I in the fight against the Cumans .
