Kirill Sergejewitsch Ladygin ( Russian Кирилл Сергеевич Ладыгин ; born December 17, 1978 in Sverdlovsk ) is a Russian racing driver and the older brother of Anton Ladygin .

Career

Kirill Ladygin began his career in the early 2000s in the national Russian monoposto sport and switched to touring car racing in 2005 . After finishing third overall in 2005, he secured overall victory in the Lada Revolution Cup Russia in 2006. These successes earned him an engagement in the World Touring Car Championship in 2008 . During the last three race weekends for Russian Bears Motorsport he drove a Lada 110 2.0 as the third driver alongside Jaap van Lagen and Viktor Shapovalov . However, the team with the defeated car had almost no chance and Ladygin did not score any championship points.

In 2009 Ladygin played the entire World Cup season. The team received factory support from Lada , but was again unable to score any world championship points with the previous year's model and this year's emergency car, the Lada Priora .

After Lada’s involvement in the world championship ended at the end of the 2009 season, Ladygin did not drive a single car race in 2010. In 2011 he won the overall standings in the RAF Russian Lada Granta Cup, another national touring car series.

In 2012 he entered the FIA GT3 European Championship and from 2013 drove for SMP Racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the European Le Mans Series . His greatest success to date was third place in the 4-hour race at the Red Bull Ring in 2015 . He has competed three times so far in the Le Mans 24-hour race , with 7th place in 2016 as the best result.
