The Kirillow House ( also the house of the blacksmith Kirillow , Russian Дом кузнеца Кириллова , Dom kusneza Kirillowa ) is a self-built and richly decorated log house in the style of naive art in the small village of Kunara in Sverdlovsk Oblast . It is located 20 km east of the city of Nevyansk , about 100 km north of the regional capital Yekaterinburg .

When the blacksmith Sergei Ivanovich Kirillov inherited the old log cabin from his father, it was in poor condition. He renovated the house so that he could live in it with his family and decorated it with various ornaments, colorful figures, childlike and Soviet symbols made of wood and metal. The work lasted from 1954 to 1967. The house was completed for the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution .

On the gable are various inscriptions: on the left gable leg: "Fly pigeons, fly! There are nowhere obstacles for you. "( Летите голуби, летите. Для вас нигде преграды нет. ), To the left and right of the First:" Started in 1954, completed in 1967 on the 50th anniversary of the Great October Revolution " (а а а а на закончена в 1967 г в канун 50 летия Великой Октябрьской социалист. революций) . Two figures each hold a banner with the text of the Russian peace song Pust wsegda budet solnze . In addition, the Russian word "мир" - in German: peace and world - appears on both sides of the gable in large white letters .

The house was voted the most beautiful self-built wooden house in Russia in 1999. Today the widow of the builder still lives in the house. (Status: February 2014)
