IFK Kiruna is a Swedish sports club from Kiruna founded in 1907 , which was best known for its ice hockey department . The ski jumping department is also known nationwide.

history

The association was founded in 1907. From 1975 to 1986, the club's ice hockey team regularly competed in Division 1, which was then still second class . In the 1987/88 season , the ice hockey department came under the independent name Kiruna HC .

The Kiruna IF team was formed in 1988 through the merger of the IFK Kiruna ice hockey departments and its league rivals Kiruna AIF .

The football department , which had played in the third division , among other things, was one of several local clubs in 1970, which merged Kiruna FF .

Another successful department of the club was the ski jumping department , from which several well-known ski jumpers emerged.
