Karl Johan Holmström (born March 22, 1925 in Bjurholm , † June 2, 1974 in Jukkasjärvi ) was a Swedish ski jumper .

Career

Holmström started for IFK Kiruna between 1943 and 1960. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lake Placid , he only reached 16th place in 1950, but his most successful year would be 1952. That year he became Swedish champion and also won the bronze medal on the normal hill at the Olympic Winter Games in Oslo . At the Four Hills Tournament in 1953 , Holmström was able to achieve two sixth places in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen after a 17th place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and a fifth place in Oberstdorf . In the end he finished ninth in the tour's overall ranking.
