Kjell Dahlin (born February 2, 1963 in Timrå ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player ( right winger ) who played for the Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League from 1985 to 1988 .

Career

At the age of 17, Kjell Dahlin played in the second Swedish division at Timrå IK . He became aware of him through strong performances in the junior national team both in Sweden and in North America.

In Sweden he rose to the Elitserien with Timrå , but then moved to top club Färjestad BK in 1982 . In the 1981 NHL Entry Draft , the Montreal Canadiens had selected him in the fourth round as 82nd.

For the 1985/86 season he ventured overseas and was able to win the Stanley Cup in his first season . It was also a very successful season personally and he was selected for the NHL All-Rookie Team because of his 32 goals and 71 points scorer . The following two seasons were overshadowed by injuries and he only came to 41 and 48 games.

He then returned to Sweden to his previous club Färjestad BK. Although he played again and again for the championship with Färjestad, he could never be Swedish champion . The team's two titles during his playing days coincided with his three years in the NHL.

In 1994 he ended his active playing career.
