The vehicles of the kkStB series A were narrow-gauge tank locomotives of the kk Austrian State Railways (kkStB), which were originally procured as construction locomotives .
history
The machines designated as A.001-010 with a track width of 760 mm were procured as construction locomotives on the occasion of the construction of the third track on the Prerau – Oderberg railway line . They were supplied by Orenstein & Koppel in 1917 with the serial numbers 7579 to 7588. As usual with the narrow-gauge locomotives of the kkStB, they were given a letter as a row designation.
After the break-up of Austria-Hungary at the end of the First World War, the ten locomotives remained entirely on the territory of Czechoslovakia . The Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD) added three of them to their inventory as U 25.001, 005 and 010; the other locomotives were given to private construction companies in 1924 before they were re-designated.
The ČSD used the locomotives on the narrow-gauge railway Bärn-Andersdorf-Hof (Beroun-Ondrášov-Dvorce) and the forest railway Tereswatal . They were retired by 1937.
