The kkStB tender number 53 was a Tender series of kkStB whose tender originally from the Austrian NordWestBahn came (ÖNWB).
The ÖNWB procured these tenders for its class XVIII and XIX locomotives in 1904 and 1905 . They were supplied by the StEG locomotive factory .
After the nationalization of the ÖNWB, the kkStB classified these tenders as class 53 and continued to only couple them with the traditional locomotives of the former Nordwestbahn.
