Klára Trencsényi

Klára Trencsényi (born March 13, 1975 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian camerawoman and film director who mainly works in the field of documentary films .

Life

After attending school, Trencsényi completed a humanities degree at Eötvös Loránd University , which she successfully completed in 1999. She then studied at the University of Theater and Film Arts ( Színház- és Filmművészeti Egyetem ) in Budapest, where she received her diploma as a camerawoman in 2005. Since then she has been working in the documentary field. The film The Angelmakers by the Dutch director Astrid Bussink, in which Trencsényi directed the camera, won the 2005 International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam prize for the best first work. The film Birds' Way , in collaboration with the anthropologist Vlad Naumescu in 2009 the Danube Delta was created, was repeatedly at film festivals excellent. For the film Reményvasút ( Train to Adulthood ) Trencsényi wrote the script, directed and also directed the camera. The film portrays the lives of three adolescents who work for the Budapest Children's Railway ( Gyermekvasút ), as well as their family and social environment. The film was awarded the Golden Dove at DOK Leipzig in 2015 and received a special award at the ZagrebDox Festival in 2016 .

In addition to her cinematic work, Trencsényi has worked as a photographer and journalist in Kosovo , Ukraine and Romania and is active as a lecturer and juror in the field of film.
