The Klampfn-Toni (also: Der Klampf'n Toni ) is a well-known and widespread Bavarian songbook with a history of more than a hundred years, published by Max Hieber Musikverlag . The name is explained by the Bavarian word for the guitar Klampfn .

The 1st edition was published in 1895 by Max Hieber . It comprised 38 pages and consisted of a loose compilation of common Bavarian songs and couplets with accompanying guitar accompaniment. The content was changed again and again in the following years. In 1915 the Klampfn-Toni was revised for the last time until 1974 when a completely edited version of the Klampfn-Toni was published, illustrated by the book artist Wilhelm Neufeld . Publishing director Ulrich Seibert published the version extended by the folk musicians "Surrer Franz" and "Nieder Christine".

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the book, Christoph Well , member of the Biermösl Blosn , put together a completely new version in 1995 . He spanned an arc from old folk songs to couplets and parodies, new textings from traditional melodies to new songs. The new version is compiled from written and audio documents by Kiem Pauli , Georg Queri , Karl Valentin , Wastl Fanderl , Weiß Ferdl , Roider Jackl and Kraudn Sepp , the Simböck siblings, Christine Nieder and Franz Surrer, Franz Eimer, Fredl Fesl , the Mehlprimeln, the Biermösl Blosn and others. Shortly before his death, Wilhelm Neufeld contributed new illustrations and vignettes. This new edition received the German Music Edition Prize in 1997 . In addition to the song book, the double CD Klampfn Toni - Alte und neue Baierische Lieder was created, which includes 44 songs by various interpreters from Weiß Ferdl to Georg Ringsgwandl .
