Klas Ivar Vilhelm Lestander (born April 18, 1931 in Arjeplog , Norrbotten County ) is a former Swedish biathlete.

At the 1960 Olympics in Squaw Valley , he became the first Olympic champion in biathlon , over the 20 kilometer distance. Lestander was a farmer's son, who stated his measurements as 1.72 m tall and 66.5 kg as his best competition weight.

It was not until the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin that another Swede became Olympic biathlon champion: Anna Carin Olofsson won the women's mass start race .
