Klaus-Ludwig Keferstein

Klaus-Ludwig Keferstein (born June 12, 1950 in Burgsteinfurt ) is a German diplomat who was ambassador to Cameroon from July 2012 to July 2015 .

Life

After graduating from high school, Keferstein did his military service in the German Armed Forces between 1968 and 1970 and then completed a degree in economics from 1970 to 1975 , which he completed in 1975 with the diploma examination. Subsequently, he was from 1975 to 1979 as a research assistant at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Muenster active and laid at this time there in 1978 his doctorate Dr. rer. pole. with a dissertation on the promotion of foreign trade among developing countries, a development policy alternative? from.

After Keferstein completed his preparatory service for the higher foreign service between 1979 and 1981 , he was initially employed at the embassy in Venezuela and then at the Foreign Office in Bonn from 1981 to 1984 . He then worked at the embassy in the USA between 1987 and 1990 and at the embassy in the Netherlands from 1990 to 1993 , before he was deputy head of division in the Federal Foreign Office between 1993 and 1997 .

In 1997, Keferstein became permanent representative of the ambassador in Kenya and, after being employed at the embassy in the Czech Republic between 2000 and 2004, worked at the embassy in Brazil from 2004 to 2007 . He then worked at the Foreign Office as Head of Unit between 2007 and 2010 and as Permanent Representative of the Ambassador to Argentina from 2010 to 2012 .

From July 2012 to July 2015 Keferstein was ambassador to Cameroon , where he successor of the retirement came Reinhard Buchholz was.
