Klaus-Peter Todt

Klaus-Peter Todt (born December 25, 1956 in Wiesbaden ) is a German Byzantinist and private lecturer at the History Department of the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz .

After studying Byzantine Studies , Protestant Theology , Philosophy and Classical Philology , he received his doctorate in 1989 and completed his habilitation in 1999 on the region and the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch in the Middle Byzantine period and in the age of the Crusades (969-1204) . Since 1999 he has been teaching regularly in the field of Byzantine Studies at the University of Mainz.

Todt is also working on the Syria et Arabia Byzantina I project: Historical geography and topography of Northern Syria from the Hellenistic- Roman period to the end of the Crusades as part of the Tabula Imperii Byzantini of the Austrian Academy of Sciences .

Todt wrote numerous articles in the Biographical-Bibliographical Church Lexicon (BBKL).
