Klaus-Rüdiger Biemer

Klaus-Rüdiger Biemer (born October 4, 1941 ) is a German basketball official .

Life

Biemer's homeland club is TV 1908 Neunkirchen. There he played a key role in expanding the basketball department, was at the head of the division for more than 20 years and was also active as a trainer and referee as well as instructor of coaches and referees. Biemer was chairman of the Bonn basketball circle from 2001 to 2009, and was also a basketball representative in the Bonn City Sports Association and the Rhein-Sieg District Sports Association.

He took up the post of chairman of the West German Basketball Association (WBV) in 2009 , and did not stand for re-election in 2015. On the occasion of his departure from the top of the WBV, he was awarded the Golden Badge of Honor of the German Basketball Association . In addition, he was chairman of the 2. DBBL ( 2nd women's basketball league ) for many years . In 2015, Biemer was elected to the supervisory board of DBBL GmbH, the operating company of the women's basketball league .

His daughter Susanne was a national basketball player and his son Alexander was a  coach in the women's Bundesliga.
