The Klaus von Klitzing Prize for particularly committed teachers of natural science subjects has been awarded annually since 2005 by the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg and the EWE Foundation.

The award is named after the Nobel Prize winner Klaus von Klitzing , Director of the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart. The sponsorship award is intended to honor teachers who, through their great commitment and creativity, help to get students excited about scientific work and thinking. The prize is endowed with 15,000 euros, of which 10,000 euros are to flow into a school project, and goes back to an idea of the neurobiologist and Vice President for Research of the University of Oldenburg, Reto Weiler .

The first winner of the Klaus von Klitzing Prize was Rudolf Lehn, mathematics and physics teacher at the Störck-Gymnasium in Bad Saulgau and head of the student research center there , which develops specific programs for research-oriented teaching.

The symbol of the price is the Von Klitzing constant .
