Klaus Bäumlin

Klaus Bäumlin (* 1938 ) is a Swiss Protestant Reformed theologian and pastor. Among other things, he worked at the Nydegg Church in Bern .

Live and act

Bäumlin was editor of the magazine Reformatio from 1972 to 1983 and for a long time also the church magazine Saemann .

He is co-editor of Kurt Marti's column work, which was nominated for the Swiss Book Prize.

As a pastor at the Nydegg Church in Bern , he was considered a pioneer of same-sex marriage because in 1995 he held a blessing ceremony for the partnership of two men.

2018 awarded him the University of Bern , the honorary doctorate , honoring his "commitment to marginalized groups."

Bäumlin is married to the politician ( SP ) Ursula Bäumlin and has two children. He lives in Bern.
