Klaus Becker (District President)

Klaus Becker (* 1934 in Celle ) is a German lawyer and administrative officer . From 1981 to 1990 he was President of the Government of the governmental district Lueneburg

Life

Becker studied law at the universities in Freiburg im Breisgau and Göttingen . He became a doctor of law doctorate .

Becker was head of the presidential department in the Lower Saxony State Chancellery and temporarily cabinet director of Prime Minister Ernst Albrecht . From 1981 to 1990 he was the district president of the Lüneburg district. During the protests against the Gorleben nuclear waste storage facility in 1984, he justified the heavy police presence around the clock in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district. After his time as district president, he worked in Schwerin as an advisor to the Prime Minister of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania until 1995 . He lives in Hanover .
