Klaus Breil

Klaus Breil (born September 9, 1945 in Burgsteinfurt ) is a German politician ( FDP ) from Bernried am Starnberger See . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 2009 to 2013 . He is also u. a. Economic and energy policy spokesman for the FDP Bavaria and deputy chairman of the VLK .

Political career

Since 2002 Breil has been a member of the business development work group of the Weilheim-Schongau district . In the 2005 Bundestag elections , he ran as a direct candidate in the Weilheim constituency , but did not make it into the German Bundestag with 4.8% of the first votes, and rank 16 in the state list was not enough. Breil has been a district councilor in the Weilheim-Schongau district council since 2008 and is a member of the finance committee and the committee for the environment, energy, climate and rural areas. He is also on the local board of the FDP Bernried and deputy chairman of the FDP district association Weilheim-Schongau. In the FDP Bavaria he is active as an economic and energy policy spokesman, chairman of the state committee for economics and finance and a member of the state board. He is also a member of the Federal Economic and Labor Committee. In addition, Breil is the deputy chairman of the Federal Association of Liberal Local Politicians (VLK) and the VLK State Association of Bavaria. In the 2009 Bundestag election he ran again in the Weilheim constituency . This time he achieved 10.5% of the first votes and thanks to the good result of the FDP on the Bavarian state list, he entered the Bundestag.

Member of the Bundestag

Breil was a full member of the Economic Committee and a deputy member of the Committees for Regional Economic Policy and Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety . He was also a member of the Europa-Union parliamentary group of the German Bundestag . When his party failed to pass the five percent hurdle in the 2013 federal election , he left the Bundestag in October 2013.

Private

Breil lives in Bernried am Starnberger See and is married. He works as a business consultant .
