Klaus Bruhn

Klaus Bruhn (born May 22, 1928 in Hamburg ; † May 9, 2016 ) was a German Indologist .

Life

After graduating from Wilhelm-Gymnasium in 1947 , he studied Indology at the University of Hamburg with Walther Schubring and Ludwig Alsdorf . After graduating as Dr. phil. in Hamburg on January 21, 1955 and habilitation there in 1964, he was professor (1966 - retirement 1991) for Indology at the Free University of Berlin .

His focus was on editing Jain prakit texts and Jain art history.
