Klaus Feiler (born September 21, 1954 in Berlin ) is a German economist and non-party political official . Since 2012 he has been State Secretary in the Senate Department for Finance of the State of Berlin . He was given temporary retirement on October 23, 2018. His successor is Fréderic Verrycken .

Life

After graduating from high school , which he passed in Berlin in 1973, Feiler began studying economics at the Technical University of Berlin (1974–1981). This was followed by positions as a scientific employee at the Faculty of Economics there (1981–1985), head of personnel development at Philips GmbH in Wetzlar (1985–1987), deputy spokesman for the Federal Ministry of Finance (1987–1990) and in the Ministry of Finance of the State of Brandenburg as Office manager of the minister, the state secretary and press spokesman (1991–1999) as well as head of the policy department for the preparation and implementation of the state budget (1999–2002).

In 2002 Feiler moved to the Senate Department for Finances of the State of Berlin as head of the budget department and the gender budgeting working group . There he was appointed State Secretary on February 15, 2012, after having temporarily held the office as successor to Iris Spranger since October 27, 2011 . He held the office under Senators Ulrich Nussbaum and Matthias Kollatz until he was temporarily retired in October 2018.
