The Messe Berlin GmbH is the operator of the exhibition center Berlin Expo Center City (exhibition center under the radio tower) and Berlin Airport Expo Center and, with a group turnover of 347 million euros to the selling exhibition companies worldwide. With a hall exhibition area of 170,000 m² and an outdoor area of 100,000 m², Messe Berlin is currently the sixth largest exhibition company in Germany in terms of area.
The management of Messe Berlin consists of Christian Göke (Chairman of the Management Board) and Dirk Hoffmann.

Messe Berlin has three wholly-owned subsidiaries (Capital Catering GmbH, MB Capital Services GmbH, Capital Facility GmbH). In addition, there are other subsidiaries that organize events and the like. a. organize in the agricultural sector, in the congress sector, in the automotive supplier industry and in the leisure sector.
Important trade shows
The event portfolio includes 30 own events at the Berlin location. The following six trade fairs are leading international events:
- Green Week - International Food Industry, Agriculture and Horticulture Exhibition
- ITB - International Tourism Exchange
- IFA - International Consumer Electronics Fair
- Fruit Logistica - the leading international trade fair for the fruit and vegetable trade
- ILA - International Aerospace Exhibition
- InnoTrans - International Trade Fair for Railway and Transport Technology
In the even year of 2018, which was more eventful, 120 trade fair and congress events took place worldwide, at which around 40,000 companies and institutions presented themselves to 2.5 million visitors.

Worldwide network
Messe Berlin is also available abroad with events such as a. represented by ITB Asia in Singapore and Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong . In 2016, the first trade fair for consumer electronics and home appliances for the Chinese market, CE China, took place in Shenzhen . In addition, 85 foreign representatives in more than 150 countries work for Messe Berlin.
In May 2017, ITB China was the first subsidiary of ITB Berlin to be held in Shanghai . From now on it will take place annually in mid-May in the World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center in Shanghai.
In November 2018, the second droidcon took place in San Francisco . Previously, Messe Berlin organized the droidcon in June in the City Cube Berlin. The event is an independent conference series for Android developers.

On May 5, 2014, the new, congress-compatible exhibition hall CityCube Berlin was opened at the Berlin ExpoCenter City , which has since been available with an exhibition area of over 12,000 m² for events with a capacity of up to 11,000 participants.
Another expansion process, the new event site Berlin ExpoCenter Airport next to the future Berlin Brandenburg Airport , was opened on July 3, 2012. The ILA Berlin Air Show takes place on this site.
In November 2017, the new construction of the column-free multifunctional hall hub27 Berlin began on the exhibition grounds . The hall has a usable area of 10,000 m² and will open on August 20, 2019. The hall and other adjoining rooms offer more space for congresses, meetings and conferences with up to 11,500 participants. Initially, however, hub27 will serve as an alternative area for other halls on the site that need to be renovated.
