Klaus Fritz
Klaus Fritz (* 1958 in Tübingen ) is a German translator . He studied sociology , political science and philosophy in Berlin .
Fritz is best known as a translator of the Harry Potter novels (since 1998). For this he received the German Fantastic Prize in 2001 for the translation of the novel Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire .
Before that, he mainly translated non-fiction books such as Fermat's Last Sentence by Simon Singh or, with two translator colleagues, Gerhard L. Weinberg's global history of the Second World War, The world at arms . Fritz also translated the 2010 with the Children's Book Price Lynx excellent book Broken Soup by Jenny Valentine . He also translated Valentine's youth book Durchs Feuer from 2014.
