Klaus Granzow (born September 10, 1927 in Mützenow , Stolp district , † April 11, 1986 in Hamburg ) was an actor, writer and Pomeranian local poet.

Life

Klaus Granzow grew up in the Pomeranian village of Mützenow. After attending high school in Stolp , he was drafted as a naval helper in 1943. In 1945 he was taken prisoner by the Soviets and had to work on a collective farm . He was expelled in 1947 and gained a foothold in Hamburg and began studying drama in 1951.

At the same time Granzow was active as a writer, especially in relation to his Pomeranian homeland. In 1964 he received the Pomeranian Promotion Prize for Culture , which was followed in 1976 by the Pomeranian Culture Prize . Another field of work was radio, as it wrote and spoke over 400 programs.

Granzow worked for many years as an actor at Theater '46 / Kammerspielkreis Lübeck (Dir .: Walter Ruder, Ursula Ruder). In 1964/65 he played for the first time at the Ohnsorg Theater in Hamburg and had been permanently engaged since 1980. He was also seen in several television films.

From 1968 Granzow was the editor of the weekly newspaper “Kirche in Hamburg”, and in 1971 he began his major study trips to Brazil. In the same year he received first prize in the radio play competition of the East German Cultural Council for the story “German emigrants today”.

Works

Klaus Granzow's literary activity was particularly dedicated to his homeland, Pomerania. Countless articles with descriptions of places and lives appeared in numerous papers and magazines. He liked to write and speak radio broadcasts in East Pomerania , which is part of Low German . These works are known to a large community of readers:
