Klaus Heymann

Klaus Heymann (born October 22, 1936 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German entrepreneur in the entertainment industry and founder of Naxos in Hong Kong , a global record label in the field of classical music .

Life

Heymann studied Romance and English at the universities in Frankfurt and London , at the Sorbonne in Paris and finally at the University in Lisbon , but broke off his studies, which he earned as a tennis teacher, without a degree. In 1967 he went to Hong Kong on behalf of a US soldiers' magazine to organize its Asia sales. In addition, he built up his own mail order business for watches, cameras and hi-fi devices.

He married the Japanese violinist Takako Nishizaki (* 1944). In order to give her an employment platform, Heymann quickly founded the record label “Marco Polo” in 1982, for which Nishizaki recorded rarely played works. In 1987 he finally founded the label Naxos , where her son Henryk is now employed. Naxos has a repertoire of over 6000 classical music titles. The parent company of both labels is " HNH International Ltd." “In Hong Kong, named after the initials of Klaus Heymann's son H enryk N ishizaki- H eymann. Heymann lives in Hong Kong ( Kowloon ) and Auckland .
