Klaus Knoll

Klaus Knoll (born August 17, 1966 ) is an Austrian writer and photographer .

Life

Knoll attended the Jesuit boarding school Aloisianum in Linz . He studied literature , media studies and photography in Salzburg , Vienna and Montpelier . In 1986 he received the Upper Austrian Literature Prize for a boarding school novel. At the end of the 1990s he worked as a lecturer at the German Institute of Kagawa Daigaku in Takamatsu , and from the turn of the millennium as a course director for multimedia arts at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences.

Together with his wife Cella, he founded the Transart Institute in 2004 . In 2008 he was Artist in Residence at Lingnan University , Hong Kong . From 2009 to 2011 he took over a professorship for photography at the University of Hawaii Mānoa. He lives and works in Honolulu and Berlin.
