Klaus Kofler (born December 8, 1981 in Schlanders ) is an Italian luge rider .

Klaus Kofler from Kastelbell has been tobogganing since 1995. The sports soldier has been a member of the Italian national squad since 2002 . At first Kofler drove in a single-seater. He made his debut in the Luge World Cup in the 2002/03 season . His first race, in which he was 34th, he contested in Oberhof . For the 2003/04 season he switched to the doubles as the back man. Up to and including the 2007/08 season he competed with Hans Peter Fischnaller . The duo Fischnaller / Kofler made their debut in the Luge World Cup in the first race of the 2003/04 season , where they finished 16th in Sigulda . Only one more mission followed this season. Since the following season, in which the doubles competed in all races, they started permanently in the World Cup. The Italians' best results were seventh in Lake Placid and Calgary . A fall in the last race in Winterberg prevented a placement among the top ten in the overall standings, so both finished eleventh. The following season brought no improvements for Fischnaller / Kofler, they finished 13th in the overall standings. In the following two seasons, the doubles steadily deteriorated, albeit only slightly.

Kofler has competed several times with Fischnaller at major international events. They finished the Luge World Championships in 2005 as 13th, in 2007 as 14th and in 2008 in Oberhof as 12. Things went even better at the Luge European Championships in 2006 in Winterberg , where doubles came in ninth, and in 2008 in Cesana Pariol they finished eleventh. Since the 2008/09 season is Patrick Schwiebacher Fischnallers new doubles partner.
