Jerry Segal
Gerald "Jerry" Segal (* 16th February 1931 in Philadelphia , † 1974 ) was an American jazz - drummer .
Jerry Segal studied music at Mastbaum High School , worked in 1954 with Bennie Green and Pete Rugolo , Norma Carson , Johnny Smith , in 1955/56 with Terry Gibbs . With Charles Mingus he played in the band of Teddy Charles in 1955 , also during this time with Dave McKenna / Hall Overton , Bob Dorough and Mary Ann McCall . In 1957 he worked with Teo Macero and Stan Getz ; in the same year he worked on the album Curtis Fuller and Hampton Hawes with French Horns . At the end of the 1950s, he was still working with Mose Allison , then Segal disappeared from the jazz scene.
