Klaus Kotter

Klaus Kotter (born May 27, 1934 in Prien am Chiemsee ; † May 13, 2010 in Traunstein ) was a German tax advisor and sports official in national and international bobsleigh .

Kotter was initially treasurer of the West German German Bobsleigh and Sleigh Sports Association (DBSV) . During the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck he was Olympic Attaché of the West German National Olympic Committee , in the same year he was elected Vice President of the Fédération Internationale de Bobsleigh et de Tobogganing (FIBT). In 1978 he was appointed interim FIBT President after the then President Amilcare Rotta from Italy fell seriously ill. In 1980, Kotter was elected President of the International Bobsleigh Federation and held this office until 1994.

In 1984 Kotter became president of the DBSV, from 1990 of the all-German bobsleigh and sledge association for Germany (BSD) , which he remained until his retirement in 2004.

Kotter was awarded the Olympic Order in Budapest in 1995 . At the same time he was Honorary President of the FIBT until his death.

Kotter lived with his family in Eggenfelden .
