Klaus Lienemann (born December 26, 1947 ) is a former German soccer player. From 1971 to 1976 he played for FC Karl-Marx-Stadt in the top division of GDR football , the GDR Oberliga .

Athletic career

After FC Karl-Marx-Stadt (FCK) was relegated from the GDR Oberliga in the summer of 1970, he accepted the 22-year-old defender Klaus Lienemann in the team for the GDR league season 1970/71. This was used in the second league game when the regular central defender Werner Dost was out. After a long break, Lienemann played almost regularly from the eleventh game day and at the end of the season he made a total of 18 appearances and one goal in 30 point games. The FCK rose to the league again after a year. Lienemann began the 1971/72 season in the first six league games again as a defender. In November 1971 he had to do a year and a half military service in the National People's Army . During this time he continued to play football for the lower-class Army Sports Association (ASG) Vorwärts in Zeithain, Saxony . After his release, he returned to FC Karl-Marx-Stadt and was called up as a substitute on the last league match day of the 1972/73 season. 1973/74 tried it coach Gerhard Hofmann with Lienemann as a midfielder. After nine game days, he took Lienemann out of the regular eleven, so that this season only made ten league appearances. Also in the following two seasons Lienemann was only a substitute with six and seven squads. The second team of the FCK played in 1975/76 in the second-rate GDR league, and there Lienemann was used in eleven of twenty-two point games. For the 1976/77 season, all the second teams in the senior league had to relegate to the third-class district league. FCK transferred its second team to BSG Motor Fritz Heckert Karl-Marx-Stadt , which took its place in the district league. This also affected Lienemann, who had to play third division football for two years. After two seasons, BSG Motor was promoted to the GDR league. The line-up also included Klaus Lienemann, who was part of the regular staff in both 1978/79 and 1979/80 with 43 appearances in a total of 44 point games. 1979/80 he scored two goals after he had not previously appeared as a goalscorer in six seasons in higher-class football. After six additional matches in 1980/81, he ended his competitive sports career at the end of the season at the age of 33. He could look back on 30 Oberliga and 67 GDR league games.
