Klaus Lorenzen

Klaus Lorenzen (born November 18, 1938 ; † September 1, 2015 ) was a German music producer .

Lorenzen was initially a founding member of the Flensburg jazz group Rainy City Stompers , in which he played the clarinet in 1957. He coordinated the music recordings for the documentary On Site - Jazz in Copenhagen , which was made in 1962 for Radio Bremen in Jazzhus Montmartre .

When the record label Metronome reorganized itself in Germany at the end of 1962 , Lorenzen coordinated its production in Hamburg. For this company he discovered the beat band The Strangers and pop singers like Nina & Frederik , "Jörg" Oliver Bendt and Wilma Landkroon and produced them; He also brought stars such as Astrud Gilberto , Anita Lindblom , Siw Malmquist , Nino Ferrer and Ann-Louise Hanson from abroad to productions. In addition, he also produced albums by Joachim and Rolf Kühn , for whose film music he also took over the production.

He also wrote articles on the history of jazz in Flensburg.
