Klaus Gerhard Hannes Mühlsiegl (born April 11, 1938 in the Bohemian Komotau ; † November 30, 2010 ) was an Austrian dance teacher.

biography

Mühlsiegel was born in Bohemia . After the expulsion, he was with the Vienna Boys' Choir for ten years from 1946 , after which he learned the trade of jeweler, goldsmith and silversmith. In 1968 he took over his parents' dance school. In the early 1980s he took over the choreography of the opening of the Vienna Opera Ball and from 2002 also that of the Concordia Ball .

Mühlsiegl was a teacher and examiner at the technical school of the Association of Viennese Dance Teachers for over 38 years. He was also a presidential member of the Austrian Dance Teachers Association for over three decades.

Parental business

The dance school was founded in 1895 by Mühlsiegl's grandfather Paul Anton Mühlsiegl in Komotau. His father Paul Eduard Mühlsiegl († 1975) continued this with his wife Lucie, née Mader from Vienna. After the expulsion, Paul Mühlsiegl and his wife founded the “Mühlsiegl” dance school in 1955 at Schönbrunner Strasse 249 in Vienna-Meidling.

His final resting place is in the Liesinger Friedhof (Gr. 82, No. 7) in Vienna.

  • 2006: Special Award from the Social Dance Committee in the World Dance Council and the silver medal of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce
  • 2008: Gold Medal of Merit of the State of Vienna
