Klaus Schnabel

Klaus Schnabel (born May 14, 1937 in Bretten ) is a retired German Protestant clergyman and church councilor. He is married and has two grown daughters. As pastor of the Evangelical Regional Church in Baden , he particularly developed and shaped the public relations work of his regional church.

Life

After graduating from high school in Mosbach , Schnabel studied theology in Bethel , Göttingen , Hamburg and Heidelberg and was particularly influenced by Paul Tillich . Professional stations were a twelve-year activity as a parish pastor in Karlsruhe , then the management of the state youth parish office and then the management of the information office at the Evangelical Upper Church Council in Karlsruhe, combined with the function of press spokesman . At times he was also the church representative for the SDR.

His theologically reflective contemporaneity led to long-term participation in evangelical preaching broadcasts of the 1st and 4th programs of the SWR as well as the publication of columns in the Badische Neuesten Nachrichten . In addition, he was editor of the Badische Pfarrervereinsblätter for a long time and is a member of the editorial board of the German Pfarrerblatt (as of 2017). For more than three decades, Klaus Schnabel was a member of the board of the Evangelical Parish Association in Baden eV , partly also in the role of treasurer on the board of the Association of Protestant Pastors in Germany eV
