Klaus Scholtissek (* 1962 in Kelkheim (Taunus) ) is a German theologian , New Testament scholar and Diakonie director.

Life

Klaus Scholtissek attended grammar school in Haltern am See and studied Catholic theology at the universities of Münster and Freiburg from 1981 to 1986. In 1990 he received his doctorate from the University of Münster. After his ordination in 1991, he initially worked in pastoral care in Warendorf .

Scholtissek had lectureships at the University of Cologne , the Philosophical-Theological University of Sankt Georgen and the University of Würzburg , where he completed his habilitation. From 2000 to 2004 he was Dean of Studies for the Ecumenical Theological Year in Jerusalem ; At the same time, he held a visiting professorship at the Benedictine University of Sant'Anselmo in Rome and a substitute professor at the University of Koblenz-Landau .

In 1986 Scholtissek was ordained a priest by the Roman Catholic Church ; In 2004 he left the priesthood. He converted to the Evangelical Church and was ordained in 2008 by Christoph Kähler , Regional Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Thuringia .

After leaving the priesthood, he was a consultant for change management in non-profit organizations from 2005 to 2007. Since 2009 he has been chairman of the Michaelis Foundation Gefell and the Evangelical Foundation Christopherushof , Bad Lobenstein, and since 2015 chairman of the Sophienhaus Weimar Foundation. Since 2009 he has also been the managing director of the Diakoniestiftung Weimar Bad Lobenstein gGmbH . Scholtissek has been a board member of the Diakonian Employers' Association of Diakonie Mitteldeutschland since 2009 (2010 to 2018 as chairman of the board). Between 2012 and 2018 he was a board member of the Association of Diaconal Employers in Germany, Berlin. Since 2014 he has been a member of the Diaconal Council of the Diaconal Work of Evangelical Churches in Central Germany.

In 2012 he was appointed private lecturer at the Theological Faculty of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena in the subject of the New Testament with a corresponding rehabilitation. In 2019 he was appointed associate professor at the Theological Faculty of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena in the subject of the New Testament.

Scholtissek is married and has two children.
