The Diakoniestiftung Weimar Bad Lobenstein was founded on January 1st, 2009 and is a non-profit company . The shareholders are the Evangelical Foundation Christopherushof in Bad Lobenstein (with 37.5% share capital), Foundation Sophienhaus Weimar (25%), the Diakonie Stetten in Kernen im Remstal (25%), and the Michaelis Foundation Gefell (12.5%).

Task

The Diakoniestiftung Weimar Bad Lobenstein is one of the largest diaconal organizations in Thuringia. More than 135 institutions provide voluntary welfare services for people in need of all ages. She is active in the elderly, has offers for people with disabilities and advice. It is also the sponsor of three schools and is involved in the areas of children, youth and families. The Diakoniestiftung also offers jobs for 550 people with disabilities in workshops, integration companies and external jobs in private companies.

More than 2,300 women and men work full-time in the Diakoniestiftung and its affiliated societies, and the work is supported by many volunteers, donors and sponsors.

A large part of the diaconal tasks of the Evangelical Foundation Christopherushof, the Michaelis Foundation Gefell and the Foundation Sophienhaus Weimar are combined in the Diakoniestiftung.

Current

Every year the Diakoniestiftung Weimar Bad Lobenstein organizes a social congress at which experts and those responsible from politics, administration, business, the church and independent organizations discuss subject-matter, socially and politically controversial issues. The aim of the congresses is the joint development of solutions for current socio-political problems, the joint design of processes, the development of solutions and the strengthening of networks.
