Klaus Schubert (political scientist, 1951)
Klaus Schubert (* 1951 ) is a German professor of political science at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster .
Life
Schubert first studied business administration at what is now Pforzheim University and graduated in 1976 with a degree in business administration before moving to the University of Mannheim , where he graduated in 1981 as a social scientist and then worked at the Ruhr University in Bochum until 1994 . First he worked there until 1984 as a research assistant at the Chair of Political Science, then as its managing assistant until 1989, before taking on a position as a research assistant, which he held until 1994. During his time in Bochum he received his doctorate in 1987 on "Interests and State Regulation: Consumers and Banking Policy in the Federal Republic of Germany and the United States of America" . He also had a research stay at the University of York in Great Britain in 1993 .
From 1994 he held various professorships for political science, first in 1994 and 1995 at the University of Duisburg , then from 1995 to 1997 at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen , where he held a visiting professorship in Brno in the Czech Republic in 1996 , then again in Tübingen worked and finally taught at the WWU in Münster until 2002 . In 2000 he received his habilitation on innovation and order - the basics of a pragmatic theory of politics in Bochum.
Since 2002 Schubert has held the chair for German politics and policy field analysis at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Münster, of which he was director from 2002 to 2007.
