Klaus Sidortschuk
Klaus Sidortschuk (* 1963 in Celle , Lower Saxony ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and was mayor of the city of Lehrte from 2011 to 2019 .
Life
Sidorschuk was born in Celle in 1963 as the oldest of three brothers. He grew up in the Hustedt district of Celle and attended the village elementary school there. He then attended a grammar school in Celle, where he graduated from high school in 1984 . After completing his military service , he completed a preparatory service for the general high-level administrative service in the district of Celle . In addition, he studied at a university of applied sciences and graduated with a degree in administrative management (FH) . Sidortschuk worked from 1988 to 1991 for the city administration in Lehrte and was active in the public order office. From 1992 he worked for the Lower Saxony Ministry of Education , where he worked in various positions until his election as mayor.
From 2006 to 2011 Sidorschuk was a member of the Lehrter City Council . In the local elections on September 11, 2011, he was elected mayor of the city with 39.1% of the valid votes. Sidorschuk was 61 votes ahead of his opponent from the CDU , who achieved 38.8%. The Green candidate scored 22.1%. He took office on November 1st. In the runoff election for the mayor's office on June 16, 2019, Sidortschuk was defeated by competitor Frank Prüße, to whom the office was transferred on November 1, 2019
Sidorschuk has been married since 1990 and has two children, a son and a daughter. He has lived in Lehrte with his family since 1989.
