Klaus Stüwe

Klaus Stüwe (born May 4, 1966 ) is a German political scientist and holder of the chair for comparative political science at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt . He is also Vice President for International Affairs and Profile Development at this university.

Life

Klaus Stüwe attended the Franz-Ludwig-Gymnasium in Bamberg and passed the Abitur there in 1985. He then studied political science , history , anthropology , Christian social studies and archeology at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt and the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC After completing his Magister Artium in 1993, he was a research assistant at the Chair of Political Science I at the University of Eichstätt, after graduation to Dr. phil. 1996 scientific assistant. The Habilitation took place in 2002. For his habilitation thesis The speech of the Chancellor , he received the 2002 Award of Eichstätter University Society for the best scientific work.

In 2001 Stüwe became a representative for political systems theory and comparative political science. In 2006 he was appointed adjunct professor at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. From 2006 to 2014 he was head of the Bachelor's degree in Politics and Society (Sociology and Political Science) . In 2013 he was visiting professor at Sogang University in Seoul ( South Korea ) from July to September . Stüwe has been director of the Central Institute for Marriage and Family in Society (ZFG) since 2014 . Since 2015 he has been the program officer for the Franco-German Integrated Degree in Political Science (BA / MA) . In 2015, he turned down an offer at Chemnitz University of Technology and accepted the offer of the W3 Chair for Comparative Political Science at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.

Stüwe's research interests include the political systems of Germany, the USA and South Korea as well as constitutional jurisdiction, political communication, family policy and internal security. He has published numerous scientific papers and is also a member of several scientific committees and organizations. He is an advisor to the German Bishops' Conference . From 2006 to 2018 he was a member of the Central Committee of German Catholics . In addition, since 2007 he has been a Liaison Lecturer for the Konrad Adenauer Foundation at the Eichstätt and Ingolstadt universities .

In October 2016 he was elected Vice President for International Affairs and Profile Development for five years.
