Klaus Stiegler

Klaus Stiegler (born April 3, 1963 in Fürth ) is a German Protestant theologian and since August 2019 regional bishop and senior church councilor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria for the Regensburg church district .

Life

Klaus Stiegler grew up in Großgründlach and initially studied social sciences . After studying theology, he became a Protestant pastor , worked in Gersthofen , was the managing pastor of St. John's Church in Forchheim from 1995 to 2004 and dean in Schwabach from 2004 to 2019 , before becoming regional bishop on August 1, 2019, succeeding Hans Martin Weiss was appointed in the church district of Regensburg.

He is married to Doris Stiegler, the couple have a daughter and two sons.
