The Evangelical Lutheran deanery in Schwabach is one of the ten deaneries in the Nuremberg Church District . Acting dean is Klaus Stiegler . Due to the different characteristics, the Dean's Office was divided into three regions. The Mid-West region comprises the city of Schwabach and the rural west of the deanery district. The district town of Roth and its surrounding area form the south region . The area around the Wendelstein market is characterized by its proximity to Nuremberg and is combined in the northeast region .

history

In 1528 the Reformation was introduced in the Margraviate of Brandenburg-Ansbach . On October 25, 1556, a Brandenburg deanery was established for the parishes of the offices of Schwabach , Roth , Burgthann , Windsbach and Schönberg as well as for the Heilsbronn monastery . These were Büchenbach , Eckersmühlen , Heilsbronn, Katzwang , Kornburg , Leerstetten , Oberferrieden , Petersaurach , Petersgmünd , Rittersbach , Rohr , Roth , Schönberg, Schwabach , Schwand , Weissenbronn, Wendelstein and Windsbach. In 1587 Georgensgemünd was acquired and the Petersgmünd subsidiary church of it. The following parishes were newly established: 1618 Dürrenmungenau, 1671 Barthelmesaurach , 1708 Kammerstein , 1729 Bertholdsdorf and Wassermungenau, and 1730 Wallesau . The imperial city of Nuremberg introduced the Reformation in 1524. In 1796, Nuremberg parishes fell to the Schwabach deanery due to the Prussian revocation. These were: Altenthann, Eibach, Feucht , Fischbach, Gustenfelden , Leinburg , Mögeldorf, Nürnberg-St. Peter, Rasch, Regelsbach , Röthenbach near St. Wolfgang and the knightly parish of Neuendettelsau .

On December 7th, 1810 the Bavarian deaneries Schwabach and Windsbach were established from the Brandenburg deanery .
