Klaus Wegner (* 1951 ) is a former German volleyball player .

Career volleyball

Klaus Wegner started with volleyball in 1965 at USC Braunschweig and later played for MTV Celle . At this time he also had his first appearances in the German national team . Shortly after the Olympic Games in Munich , which he narrowly missed, Klaus Wegner moved to the Bundesliga club Hamburger SV . With HSV he became German champion in 1976 and 1977 and won the DVV Cup in 1974 and 1977 . In 1978 Klaus Wegner moved to the second division club 1. SC Norderstedt , with whom he was promoted to the Bundesliga in 1983. Later on, Klaus Wegner was assistant coach at the Hamburg regional division TuS Berne .
