Klaus Zorn

Klaus Zorn (born August 1, 1934 in Rostock ) is a former German diplomat . He was the GDR's ambassador to Vietnam and North Korea .

Life

Zorn learned the trade of industrial clerk . He initially worked in local government bodies. Since 1959 he was a member of the diplomatic service of the GDR. In 1966 he graduated as a state scientist. Zorn was initially an employee of the GDR embassy in Hanoi . In 1976 he obtained his diploma as a social scientist. From 1976 to 1978 he worked as deputy head of the Far East Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the GDR (MfAA). From May 1978 to August 1982 Zorn worked as the GDR's ambassador in Hanoi. In 1982 he took over the management of the Far East department at the MfAA. In 1990 he was the last ambassador of the GDR in Pyongyang .

Zorn was a member of the SED .
