Klaus von der Heyde

Klaus Albrecht von der Heyde (* 1940 ) is a German lawyer and banker .

Career

Von der Heyde studied law in Cologne , Munich and Bonn . After the 2nd state examination in 1969, he joined Commerzbank , where he received training in banking. He then headed various branches. In 1991 he moved up to the board of the Berlin Commerzbank. In 1994 he moved to the board of the Berliner Bank , where he was board spokesman from 1996 to 1998. He left the bank at the end of 1998 and has since been admitted to the bar.

From 1999 to 2011 he was President of the Association of Berlin Merchants and Industrialists (VBKI). During his tenure, the number of members of the association almost doubled. In the presidential election in September 2011, he no longer ran and was appointed honorary president of the VBKI.

He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Friends of Antiquity on Museum Island Berlin as well as an honorary reading mentor in the VBKI citizen network Education with children from socially disadvantaged schools.
